Following our update in January in which we were very excited to tell you about our newly acquired CQC-registered status, we did not expect to be contacting you less than two months later to talk about the global pandemic which is Covid-19. I am sure that, like us, you have been following the news which is making it very clear that the way we behave and interact in the next few months will have to change to give us the best chance of staying healthy and well.
More than ever, we want to continue to give all our patients the best possible support in the current environment. Therefore, effective immediately, we have implemented the following changes in our practice.
Until further notice, all consultation appointments will be by video call rather than face-to-face.
We already use Zoom software to offer video consultations and many of you will already have had a consultation in this way. If you have an appointment booked, Sarah will be in touch with you to see if you would like to continue with your appointment via Zoom and all new appointments going forward will be Zoom appointments. Zoom is very easy to use, and we will issue full instructions when we set up your appointment.
For the moment, our phlebotomy service is suspended.
This may resume at a later date when we are able to access the protective equipment we need.
As an alternative to our FDX blood test, we are able to offer a ONE test and a thyroid test via Thriva.
See here for further information. Neither test requires you to come into the practice to have bloods taken.
New programmes of care for this difficult time
For new and existing patients, we have created two different approaches to our programmes of care for the coming months: “Begin your Health Journey” and “Continue your Health Journey”. Details can be seen here and all appointments are by video call.
While these are worrying times, there is a lot that we can do to achieve optimal health and we will be organising a series of webinars in the coming months which we hope you will join and find useful.
We hope this message reassures you a little. In fact, apart from meetings being virtual rather than face-to-face, it is pretty much business as usual. Please continue to eat well, sleep well, move as much as possible and, above all, stay safe and follow the official advice. Do get in touch if you need us and we will keep you updated over the coming months as the situation becomes clearer.
